HP is renewing its premium laptops line for consumers, the Omnibook X, with a series of new convertibles and a large shell design. The updates, presented at the HP Amplify Partners Conference, include new keyboards without grid and Intel and AMD chips. The new machines are convertible 2 into 1 of 14 and 16 inches and a standard laptop of 17.3 inches.
The 14 -inch model, the HP omnibook X Flip 14 2 in 1, begins with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226v and reaches an ultra 7 258v core, or on the AMD side, an Ryzen AI 5 340 to an Ryzen AI 7 350. Those Ryzen chips have all 50 NPUS tops, while Intel chips vary from 40 to 47 tops.

All of them reach the minimum NPU requirement to be Copilot+PCs.
Intel models will have 16 or 32 GB options of RAM LPDDR5X-8533, while AMD models will also have a 24 GB version and work at a slower speed LPDDR5X-7500. Intel storage is also higher, reaching 2 TB, while the AMD version reaches 1 TB.
Anyway, a 14-inch OLED touch screen is obtained with resolutions of up to 2880 x 1800, as well as Wi-Fi 6e or 7 support.
16 -inch laptop 2 in 1 inches has the same chip options as 14 inches, but with a larger OLED screen.
In addition, however, there is an additional configuration, the only one that is not labeled as a PC with AI, with an AMD Ryzen 5 220, which does not have an NPU. That has other basic specifications that include only 8 GB of RAM and a 1920 x 1200 screen. It is likely to be an affordable option in this high -end chassis, but HP has not announced any price for any of these systems.

If you are looking for something more similar to a workstation, the HP Omnibook X 17.3 combines an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V or 258V with integrated ARC graphics or a GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 laptop.
This system has 16 or 32 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of storage.
HP lists a standard 1920 x 1080 screen.
In all new models, HP has adopted a grid keyboard, without space between the keys; It is a design similar to that Dell was using in its XPS line. This allows larger keys and, according to an HP representative, a softer writing.
The standard gum keys will remain in the Omnibook 7 and lower line.
It seems that the blue highlights on the function keys of the omnibooks last year have gone, which is a shame because that light touch of color was fun.
Each of these laptops has a solid selection of ports, including HDMI 2.
1, USB TYPE-C (Thunderbolt 4 in most Intel systems), USB-A (2 ports in the 14 or 16 inches flip, 3 ports in the 17.3-inch model), and a headphones taking. All also have a 5MP camera with infrared for the facial recognition of Windows Hello.
Although HP is promoting these laptops as centered on AI, the demonstrations shown to the press were mainly based on the generation of images and other tasks that are common at this time.
The local AI still has a long way to go to be extremely useful in conventional PCs.
Beyond the Omnibook X series, HP is also updating its Omnibook 5 and 3 series in a series of Intel and AMD chips sizes and options. No price has been announced, but HP also hopes to launch these devices in spring.
