Nothing OS 3.1 Update for Phone (3a) Series

• Nothing has released Nothing OS 3.1 for its newly launched Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, globally available from March 24th, featuring significant improvements across the operating system and encouraging users to update for an enhanced experience.

• Key improvements include Essential Key integration within the Nothing Camera app, allowing users to add notes via short press or voice input via long press, separating photography from Essential Space reminders;  camera enhancements such as more intuitive zoom, corrected skin tones, improved white balance and clarity, and faster performance; and optimized Essential Space and improved Always-On Display animations.

• The update also includes various bug fixes and stability improvements for both Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro models; users are advised to connect to the internet post-unboxing for immediate OTA update, and the update may cause temporary overheating and increased power consumption during the optimization process.

We are pleased to announce the release of Nothing OS 3.1 for the recently launched Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro.  The global rollout begins March 24th, delivering substantial OS enhancements.  We strongly recommend all users upgrade for an optimized user experience.

Significantly, Essential Key functionality has been integrated into the Nothing Camera application; enabling direct content annotation via short press for text input or long press for voice input. This enhancement allows users to clearly distinguish photographic content from Essential Space reminders.

Upon receiving your Phone (3a) Series device, we strongly advise connecting to the internet and installing the latest software version via an over-the-air update.

Essential Space is available to all Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a Pro users and will undergo continuous development.  Our roadmap includes Smart Collections, Focused Search, and Flip to Record functionality.  Version 3.1 will also feature camera and Always-On Display enhancements.  Complete release notes are provided below.
